    1. Thanks Simon! Purple Hairstreaks are pretty hard to see as they are normally high up in the canopy, however I have been lucky in seeing a couple on the deck!

  3. I thought I had seen Purple Hairstreaks at Bedfords Park, Havering (a really good natural site run by Essex Wildlife). They were in a wild-flower meadow on highish grass about a month ago. Perhaps I was wrong!

    1. Hi Bazza! They do tend to be found in woodland, most notably oak and are more often seen high in the canopy of that woodland, but never say never!

    1. I think the Purple Hairstreak is pretty scarce in Ireland with the White-letter being absent altogether. Glad you enjoyed the photos!
