Whitethroat on a wire

A Common Whitethroat singing its `scratchy` song on a telephone wire near Maxey GP yesterday. The sun was shining, a novelty in itself and the warblers were taking full advantage.

  2. Just what I was going to say, great shot John. Only seen my first Whitethroats of the year this last weekend, too distant with my DSLR gear.

    1. Hi Mike,
Thank you. I am starting to see them a fair bit now, but I always hear them first!

  3. When photographed these birds always seem to be singing - or at least they have their mouths open!

    1. I always try to get a shot of a warbler singing Bazza, I think it adds something to the photo! Having said that, it is nice sometimes to have a photo that is not the norm.
