Thanks Keith, they can be frustrating little birds, can`t they?! Sometimes they can sit at the top of a reed singing away posing beautifully and then another day, they will move at the drop of a hat! J
Hi John..I'm slow at keeping up with comments with my sister here visiting!! Your previous post of the European Roller was great !! Such a colorful bird and your shots where just super!! The Sedge Warbler is a happy little singer..love the shots with it's beak open : } Grace
Hi Bazza, They have been known to add mimicry into their own song, most notably that of Coot, Wood Sandpiper and Yellow Wagtail. I wouldn`t say that they were known for it though. J
Great captures John.
ReplyDeleteI'm finding this bird a bit difficult to catch with the camera at the moment. :-(

Hi Grace,
DeleteThank you for your kind words and, don`t worry, some things are more important than commenting on this twaddle! ;)

Well captured John. I find them very uncooperative where photos are concerned. I do love seeing any bird singing in a photo :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Jan,
DeleteThank you. Yes, as I said to Keith, somtimes they pose beautifully and then other times, not so! Very frustrating.

Fantastic to see John..
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew,

Aren't these birds known as mimics of other birdsong?
ReplyDeleteOr am I confusing them with something else?
