Another day, another good bird at Ferry Meadows and only present for the one day too.

    Hi John. On the BBC Nature website they have a lovely picture of a BNG with a chick riding on it's back and a short video of two birds.

      Hi Bazza,
      As ever, you are far too kind about my humble piccies! The grebe family as a whole tend to carry their young on their backs, I have seen Great Crested Grebes do it and it does look very 'cute'.
