"Little robin redbreast sat upon a thistle,
When the thistle pricked his a**e,
He began to whistle!"
Digiscoped using Lumix FS15 and Kowa TSN-883 x30
Okay, I know it isn`t a thistle, but I don`t know any rhymes involving a viburnum!

More `Chatting`
Another day, some more Stonechats! These birds were on the Nene Washes near Peterborough again today, although I am pretty sure they have now been joined by at least 3 other pairs.
The wind was pretty blustery today, as can be seen in a couple of shots and so the birds weren`t quite as keen to perch up and show off.

Bramblings galore!
This year has been a fairly good one so far for sightings of Brambling in the PBC area. There were at least 10 in amongst a flock of Chaffinches near work today.
They were quite happily `flitting` from tree to tree, until a male Sparrowhawk `buzzed` by causing a deal of upset! He was unlucky in his assault, but put the wind up the flock which dispersed rather rapidly!

Pair of Stonechats
An early morning visit to the Nene Washes near Peterborough in fantastic weather gave me extremely good views of this pair of Stonechats. They were very active, dropping down on the floor by the feet of cattle to feed on anything that the cows` feet disturbed.
There was also another pair, although these two were much more wary and kept their distance! Also, there was a Curlew present, a Marsh Harrier being `mobbed` by crows and loads of Reed Buntings and Meadow Pipits with a lone Swallow flying over.
The Stonechats pictured below were `stars` of the show though!

More Butterflies and a Dragon
It was a gorgeous day in the garden today, perfect blue skies with just a `nip` in the air. This time of year is my favourite, with falling leaves giving that aroma of bonfire nights and misspent youth.
There is still a lot of insect activity in the sunshine with these being a few of many winged insects seen.
