More Barn Owls

Below are some more photograph`s of 3 individual Barn Owls. Again, these were taken at Deeping High Bank in very bad light with squally showers.

  1. Beautiful captures regardless of the light and showers! They are such majestic creatures.

  2. Nice photos John, even in bad light.

Over at my blog I lamented the destruction of a forest, and now about how present day timbers don't last as long as they used to.

  3. These are superb photos under the circumstances John.
Deeping High Bank is always worth a visit for something different.

  4. Weather and lighting notwithstanding, nice photos! Isn't it nice the barn owl stayed around a while posing? Such a remarkable face it has.

  6. Hi Grandpa. Thankyou for saying that about my photo`s.
I don`t think modern day anything is up to much, we live in a throw away society where things aren`t made to last!

  7. Thanks Roy, a real compliment. I went to the High Bank to try and get some photo`s of Short-eared Owls, but there were none showing that day, so I satisfied myself with these beautiful creatures.

  8. Thanks Raining Acorns. The photo`s are of 3 different owls, all of which seemed to want to pose for the camera. They knew I was there, they kept looking straight at me, but obviously knew I was no threat so they carried on looking for bank voles!

  11. Hi bazza. These shots were taken at about 4.30pm, so just getting dark. Barn Owls do hunt in the day, especially when the weather is poor or if they have young to feed (obviously not at the moment). I have seen one owl at midday in the middle of the breeding season, must have had some hungry mouths to feed!

  13. Hi John,
Remarkable photographs of Barn Owls, despite the poor light and squally showers.
