Preening whilst in flight |
Being harassed by a House Martin |
Some record shots of the Red-rumped Swallow which was found on Sunday morning by Matt Webb. It was seen in the company of House Martins around Overton Lake and Roman Point for most of that morning and then again in the evening. I saw it again on Monday morning and it was again reported that evening and then again this morning. A nice addition to my PBC year list.
Pretty bird, I love the scissor-tail. Great shots!

Great flight shots of the Swallow
ReplyDeleteA pretty species! Apparently they are occasionally vagrants to Australia and surrounding territories as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Christian! I didn't realise that they were so widespread!

ReplyDeleteThanks Kristi! I took hundreds of photos and these were the best I managed!

What specifically is a 'Record Shot' John? By the way, I love the name of this bird although I haven't come across it before!
ReplyDeleteA record shot Bazza is one where you can recognise the bird, but that's about it! Most of my photos are record shots!

Very tough Andy, thank you!
