Male Great Spotted Woodpecker








Told apart from the female because of the red mark on the back of its neck.

  1. I can only see the red nape in the first picture. So if these are all the same bird, it's male?
    It's another rare visitor to Redbridge! I think of it as very 'vertical' bird.

      Yes, they are all of the same male bird. I think that it's the first time that I have seen one on the ground!
