Head shots

Winter may be appearing on the horizon (see previous post), but dragons are still hanging on and in evidence when the sun is shining. They are a little more sluggish with the cooler temperatures, perching more often and for longer periods, allowing me to get fairly close and get these head shots.

Yes, I am fairly happy with it, of course, it's not a patch on the big DSLR's and lenses.

  4. Great photos! (Why am I not surprised?) We had larger fare in our yard today: three very plump wild turkeys. We haven't seen turkeys here in a few years, so it was nice to have them back.

    1. Hi Susan,
Thank you. A bit too late for Thanksgiving, but maybe in time for Christmas, or is that tasteless!? It would be amazing to see anything like that in my back garden!

  6. Beautiful photos John, so clear and detailed!

I also enjoyed your recent posts and photos of the Redstart, Whoopers (already!!!) and Knot. I'm afraid I've struggled with blogging recently hence the lack of comments :-(

Glad you enjoyed my previous posts and don't worry about lack of comments, we all have busy lives with other things that are more important.

  7. It's always such a treat to visit your site John and always a lovely surprise to see something new! The detail even gives these creatures a kind of personality that you one can't sense usually.
