Bramblings still
Today has been dull, dank and thoroughly miserable, a bit like my mood. Still licking my wounds a bit after a big 'dip' at the weekend, but at least I have still got a couple of these Scandinavian finches coming to the garden, I just wish that they would come when the sun is shining. The top 4 photos show a male Brambling with the bottom photo showing a feisty female telling a male Chaffinch exactly what she thinks of him!

Happy week John and I do hope it gets better, for my past 3 months have been more than drab! I think the bird images are absolutely splendid!
ReplyDeleteAnd to you Mary! Hopefully, as the months wear on the weather will improve! I am longing to feel a bit of warmth on my back.
DeleteThank you,
J
Nice Bramblings shots John. That was a surprise.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roy,
DeleteDo you mean a surprise that they are nice shots, or a surprise at the bird(s)?! ;)
J
Great shots John.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely visitor.
Thanks Keith,
DeleteYes, always a treat to have them in the garden.

Oh them lady Bramblings! They're a bit saucy ain't they?
ReplyDeleteClick here for Bazza’s Blog ‘To Discover Ice’
They give as good as they get Bazza, I wouldn't mess with them if I was a Chaffinch!

Beautiful Bramblings and even when it is a dull day, cheers John.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob,
DeleteIt cheered me up a bit on such a dull day.

Great shots! These fabulous little birds usually fly past us so fast that all we get is a flas of their wing colours. Lovely to see all the bird for once. Hope your weather improves, our matches yours here in Wiltshire. Minerva ~
ReplyDeleteThank you Minerva,
DeleteThey are fast little critters, I normally see their white rump as they fly away! The forecast is slightly better for the week ahead, but it's not normally that dependable, is it!?

Well done John, a lovely little visitor. I get them in my garden too but this time haven't been able to get a decent photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan,
DeleteSome would say that I am in the same boat regarding the decent photo! :)

I found your blog via Roy's nature notebook and glad I did. Lovely frosting on the male Brambling. I'll look forward to coming back again.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenny, you are welcome back any time. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Alan,
DeleteYes, every year I look for them, but this year it has been successful!
