Goldfinches seem to go through phases in my garden, sometimes they go through nyjer seed like no tomorrow and other times they just ignore it. They do like sunflower hearts though! J
I think they are one of the few success stories when it comes to garden bird numbers. They are the only bird in the top 10 of the RSPB's garden birdwatch that are showing an increase in numbers. J
Hi John. I tried niger/nyjer seed but can't seem to attract Goldfinches to my garden in Essex. Blue Tits abound of course!

To think goldfinch were an unusual sight when I was a child, now you see them everywhere. And what a joy to do so.
