A couple of Reed Buntings

  1. Pretty captures of your Reed Bunting. I assume the male is in the middle, he is handsome. Great shots!

    1. Thanks Eileen! You are correct, the male is the middle bird, his head will turn fully black when in breeding plumage, some already have, just not the ones I have a photo of! ;)

      I am lucky in that they come into the garden very regularly, so I get to see them most days.

  5. It looks like the bird in the first picture is actually on a reed! There are Reed Buntings at Roding Valley Meadows and I always look for them because I think they are easy to identify.

    1. Yes, they do sometimes perch on reeds Bazza, just not that often ;)
